After breakfast, depart for the Northern Serengeti for a full day game drive to observe the great migration. The river crossings in Kogatende start in August when the big herd settles in the area. Between August and October, game viewing is at its best as river crossings are pretty much guaranteed every day. After breakfast, embark on a full day game drive to observe the great migration in the Mara area. The number of resident wildlife is exceptionally high in the Wagakuria area. The main feature is the Mara River. There is of course no guarantee to observe the crossing; it is purely a matter of luck. But here at the Mara River there are great chances to see the herds crossing the Mara River to the north in one day and again to the south a few days later. A herd may be seen next to the river and decide to cross a few days later. This area is a stunning region of kopjes, forests, riverine vegetation and open plains, similar to the Massai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya.
